Our grassroots, volunteer-run group is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit (EIN: 30-0777784).

We have been in operation since 2012, and meet weekly in Cambridge, Mass.

Our current activities include:
– S. 787 (the Fundamental Freedoms Act) which reforms fusion centers.
– Coordinating local campaigns (so far, in Arlington, Boston, Brookline, Cambridge and Somerville) to pass surveillance oversight ordinances, like many cities and counties across the country have done.
– Opposing law enforcement sharing of data with ICE and the Joint Terrorism Task Force, especially where that data is not probable cause of involvement in a crime.

We’re the state affiliate of national civil liberties group Restore The Fourth.

We’re an explicitly transpartisan group. We include peaceful people of all parties and none. We encourage a respectful mutual conversation on the important topic of surveillance and the Fourth Amendment. If you’d like to join our discussion group, email

If you need to make a tax-deductible donation, please try our research arm, which helps to fund relevant research into the surveillance state.
